L.Felipe Monteiro is a PhD candidate at the Strategic & International Management Department of London Business School. He has a LL.B. (cum laude) degree from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and M.Sc. from COPPEAD/URFJ, Brazil. Before joining the doctoral program at London Business School, he was a Senior Researcher of the Harvard Business School and an Adjunct Professor of IBMEC Business School in Brazil. Prior to that, he has served as the Programme Director of the Executive MBA and Director of International Programs of IBMEC in Rio de Janeiro.

His main research interests are international management and knowledge transfers within multinational corporations (MNCs), in particular, in MNCs headquartered in emerging markets. He has published several case studies about Brazilian and Latin American companies (available through http://harvardbusinessonline.hbsp.harvard.edu). Felipe is currently working on different research projects with Professors Sumantra Ghoshal and Julian Birkinshaw from London Business School.

It is a pleasure to serve the IMD as a country representative for Brazil. As the research outpost of Harvard Business School in Brazil, I had the unique opportunity of working with faculty members of practically all leading business schools in the country (and with quite a few from other countries in Latin America) and I could observe that high quality research is being developed in the region. I hope to be able to encourage and facilitate the engagement of an increasing number of academics from Brazil and Latin America in the Academy of Management. I am certain that the International Management Division of the AOM is an excellent forum to enhance the discussion about management issues that may be prevalent in Latin America but are not commonly experienced in the US or Europe. I am also very enthusiastic about doing collaborative research with other researchers from and/or interested in Latin America. Finally, I will be more than happy to help IMD members who would like to do research in Brazil to get in touch with interested collaborators.

Carmen Leonor Martínez-López (Ph.D. Candidate in Business Administration with emphasis in International Business and Management). Her research interests are Latin American Business Groups, Latin American Privatization and the Latin American Health Care Sector. Her research has been accepted by international conferences in the North and South American hemisphere. Fluent in Spanish and English and she loves reading, soccer and golf.

It is my pleasure to serve as a country representative of the IMD for Colombia, my lovely country. As a person with faculty and research experience for more than twenty years in the North and South American hemisphere, I am looking for academic answers that some of my fellow Latin Americans could contribute because of their experience and knowledge about the region. My goal is to cooperate and encourage my fellow Latin American researchers to participate actively in the Academy of Management and especially in the International Management Division. For my fellow researchers from the the other areas of the world, I will be ready to cooperate and discuss any concern they may have about my hemisphere, especially about South America.

His main research interests are International Comparative Management and Ethics, e-Commerce and Information Technology in emerging economies, and Women's Differences in Management. Fluent in Spanish, English and French, he has a working knowledge of Italian and German and loves travels, reading and music.

It is a distinct pleasure to serve the IMD as a country representative for Mexico. As a faculty member from a well-reputed Latin American university, I look forward to helping fellow Latin American researchers get introduced to the Academy of Management, in particular to the International Management division. I also encourage non-Latin American IMD members to contact me, should they have a question regarding the business academic milieu in Latin America. So far, I have been able to help locate Latin American speakers for PDWs and colleagues for data collection in cross-cultural research projects--other than myself! If I don't have an answer, I promise to do my best to help you, and that may be simply saying "I don't know" (a particularly difficult answer to obtain from collectivists, as you are probably aware...).
