Anne-Wil has a BA in Business & Languages from the Hogeschool Enschede; a MA in Business Administration & International Management from Maastricht University, both in the Netherlands and a PhD in International Management from the University of Bradford. She is currently Professor in International Management at the University of Melbourne, Australia. Before joining Melbourne, she worked at the Open University, Tilburg University and Maastricht University (all in the Netherlands, her country-of-origin) and the University of Bradford (UK). Her research interests include international HRM, expatriate management, HQ-subsidiary relationships, cross-cultural management and the role of language in international management. She has published about these topics in journals such as Journal of International Business Studies, Journal of Organizational Behaviour, Strategic Management Journal, Human Resource Management, and Organization Studies. Anne-Wil is Associate Editor for the International Journal of Cross Cultural Management and is on the editorial board of Journal of International Business Studies, Mananagement International Review, International Business Review, Thunderbird International Business Review, European Journal of International Management, Human Resource Management, European Management Review, and The International Journal of Management Reviews. In the past, she has also acted as Associate or Departmental Editor for Journal of International Business Studies and the Australian Journal of Management. Since 1999 she also maintains an extensive website (www.harzing.com) with resources for international and cross-cultural management. In addition to her substantive research areas, Anne-Wil also has a keen interest in issues relating to journal quality and research performance metrics. In this context she is the editor of the Journal Quality List and the provider of Publish or Perish, a software program that retrieves and analyses academic citations.
